When can I park on it again?

The question we get asked most, and the answer is about the system rather than the size of your floor. Walking on it always comes well before parking on it.

Solid colour or flake, epoxy build

We grind and prep on day one. Base coat and broadcast, then a clear top coat once it has cured. You walk on it first and park on it noticeably later, and the gap between those two is where most damage happens.

With a polyaspartic top coat

The same preparation, then coats we can recoat in hours rather than overnight. That is what makes your short shutdown possible, and it is why a shop that cannot lose trading days pays for it.

Quartz and heavier builds

More material, more coats, longer. On your commercial floor we usually plan it in sections so part of the space keeps working.

Cold weather

Cure times stretch as the temperature drops, and epoxy gets unreliable before polyaspartic does. In a Connecticut November that is the difference between your job happening and waiting for spring.

Putting your car back too early is the single most common way a good new floor gets damaged.

Hot tyres are the risk

A warm tyre sitting on a coating that has not fully cured can soften and lift it. That is the failure you hear described as a floor peeling.

Brad gives you both dates

Walk-on and drive-on, at the quote, for the system you have chosen and the weather that week. They are not the same date and the difference is worth writing down.

Measuring a Floor Properly

Two numbers, and a few things we see catch people out.

Measure the concrete, not the building

Measure your slab inside, wall to wall. Exterior measurements include the walls and overstate your floor.

Odd shapes split into rectangles

An L-shaped floor is two rectangles you add together. So is a garage with a bump-out for a workbench.

Do not subtract for obstacles

Your shelving, your freezer and your workbench are all moving out before the day, and we still coat the slab under them.

Include the apron if you want it done

The slab outside your door is a separate decision, and we put a UV-stable top coat on it because it is outdoors.

Single garages

If you have an older single garage, common in the pre-war shoreline towns, it often runs around 12 by 20 to 12 by 24 feet.

Two-car garages

Yours is commonly around 20 by 20 to 22 by 24 feet if the house is post-war or later.

Three-car and oversized

More common in Trumbull, Fairfield and newer developments, and large enough that you should check which rate band it falls in.

Why yours will differ

Bump-outs for workbenches, stair enclosures and utility corners all change the number you give us. Measure it.
