How to Test a Concrete Slab for Moisture
The one question above that most people answer with 'not yet'. It costs you nothing, takes a day, and it is real building science rather than a sales tool.
What you need
A two foot square of clear plastic sheet and some tape. That is your entire kit.
What you do
Tape it flat to your bare concrete and seal all four edges completely. Leave it a full day somewhere it will not be disturbed, then lift a corner and look underneath.
What it means
Condensation under the plastic, or concrete that has gone dark, means moisture is moving up through the slab. Dry means it probably is not. It is not a laboratory test and it will tell you more than a brochure will.
Why it matters this much
A coating bonded to a slab that is passing moisture will lift, blister or lose its bond. Finding that out after your floor is down is the expensive version, and it is the most common way a resin floor fails.

Why Moisture Is the Question That Decides Everything
More coatings fail because of what was under them than because of what they were. That is why we start with your slab and not with your colour.
Concrete is not waterproof
Your slab on grade wicks moisture up from the ground continuously. With no coating it evaporates off the surface and nobody notices.
A coating stops that evaporation
So the vapour collects at the bond line instead, and pressure builds under the film until your floor lifts, blisters or lets go.
Which is why the test matters
We do not treat it as a formality. It is the difference between a floor that lasts and a floor you pay for twice.
